FDA-Registered Facility vs FDA-Approved Product
These phrases are not interchangeable. FDA states that it does not approve dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness before they are marketed, and it does not independently “approve” manufacturing facilities.
What registration means
Certain facilities are required to register with FDA, and FDA can inspect regulated facilities for compliance. Registration should not be presented as an FDA endorsement of a supplement.
Use this distinction whenever you encounter “FDA registered” in supplement marketing.
