Enki Elixir Safety, Side Effects & Interactions
This page is educational, not individualized medical advice. FDA advises consumers to speak with a doctor, pharmacist or other health professional before using a dietary supplement because supplements can interact with medicines or other supplements.
Why licorice matters
NCCIH reports that glycyrrhizin in licorice root can cause serious adverse effects, particularly with large or long-term intake, and notes special concerns for people with hypertension or heart or kidney conditions. Interactions with corticosteroids have also been reported.
